What undertakers should know about our services
eMalahleni Crematorium provides a service to undertakers in the Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng and North West provinces.
We currently have five cremators in operation and can do up to 2000 cremations per month.
We have developed a set of documents to be used by undertakers when arranging cremations, that:
- Will be provided to undertakers once they decide to make use of our services; and
- Are very much in line with the requirements of the law, but additional information is included to ensure a seamless service.
We have a set of rules designed to ensure that we provide all our customers with the best service possible which also forms part of our service agreement, taking in consideration that:
- These rules may change from time to time, such as during the Covid 19 pandemic; and
- Any changes will be communicated via the documentation to be completed.
We make use of the Crematorium Transport Company (CTC) to collect coffins and deliver ashes to you in the quickest possible way, they have:
- Set routes but will expand it as and when required;
- More information regarding these routes and you are welcome to contact them by using the button below:

We consistently update our Policies in compliance with any legal requirements supported by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which details how each task should be completed.
The employees are trained and sensitised in ensuring adherence to the Policies and SOPs mentioned in paragraph b) above.
We are installing additional abatement systems to ensure that we remain within the emission limits for new plant standards as required by the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, no. 93 of 2004 (from hereon called NEM: AQA ); Section 21: Category 8, Subcategory 8.2: Cremation of Human Remains, Companion Animals (Pets) and the Incineration of Veterinary Waste.
We have contracted a SANAS Accredited Consultant who are well known in the cremation industry, to do emission monitoring surveys on all our cremators at the applicable intervals to ensure compliance with the limits for new plant standards as required by NEM: AQA.
